At first I didn't like the way the first model's hands are on, what I'm assuming is, the headboard...it breaks the dimension of the photo...but after looking it over a couple of more times and trying to imagine it with her hands down I realized the break is actually really nicely done. Besides the composition of the photo (I love the colors too, btw) I really enjoy the contrast between the models in emotion.
The first model seems like she's just waking, maybe just starting to listen to some music and is ready to dance through her morning routine and face the day head-on. The second model seems a little more cynical, ready for the comfort of bed to help rid her of the days stress. It's funny how our world revolves around the bed when you stop to think about it, well the bed & sleep, and this photo brought me full circle from morning to evening. Energy and the need to rest.
If nothing else I think that's what makes good photography. When you can see a story within a photo and don't just stare at the models as if they were things, they aren't, they're part of a story and I enjoyed this one very much--even if it's not the 'right' story. It's the people looking at this calling it porn that have turned it into porn in their own heads, and really that's just sad. Congratulations on a well deserved DD.

There is no vertical line, there are 3 vertical lines, tasteless porn indeed. The poses the models are doing have no meaning, at all, nothing is being broken up by them.
It's a very stupid reason to put something a Daily Deviantion. If Nyx is going to put something as dumb as this as a Daily Deviantion she might as well say nothing at all because her comments on the picture sound retarded and don't make very much sense.
I am interested in the world that Nyx is in but sometimes it's something that just gets at me like a cats biting my hands
The comment wars are an endless source of amusement.
I think it's kind of an unusual photo: There are not only two nude models in one photo, which is already something you don't see too often, they are also strangely disconnected in a way. Their poses are completely different, they don't interact in any way, shape or form and it kind of gives the impression of two different images that were simply glued together and each part by itself has some sort of a flow but together there's no such thing. I can't remember seeing anything quite like this. It's unexpected and really confusing. In a good way. I think.
besides, I really love the contrast of cool and warm colors here and beautiful naked ladies are awesome, too.
now let's just hope that the comment was even remotely coherent. It's 4:44 AM over here and I probably should attempt to write comments - or any sort of text, really - at a time like that.
The most important rule to art is that there are no rules. Anything can be art if inspiration is put into it and in my opinion, this photo has definitely been carefully constructed and shot to showcase beauty in its fullest form. The fact that these women are naked does not take away from the beauty or weight of the shot. Fuck the judgmental idiots.
Vast numbers of people don't seem to get it, that when the photographer wrote about recognition he was talking to his followers at the time (who probably did know these models). I swear some of these people think the artists arrange their own DDs or something
1. I am leaving my Mature Content turned off for those who want to attack me with FAQ #93: 2. Would have used only one model, 1st model she seemed to blend better with the background, her hips were level with the darkest 'bar', thought her hands/arms placement was better. And the overall form of her upper body contrasted the straight legs. Yes, I would have used one model.
"I'm sure everyone recognizes these two. " No, I do not.
